WE ARE SAVED BY THE GRACE OF GOD THROUGH FAITH!
Ephesians 2:8-9
Grace is undeserved love. God's grace is bestowed upon man in many forms (rain, health,
prosperity, etc.), however, we are saved (from our sins) when we receive through faith, God's
greatest act of grace.
John 3:1
The greatest act of grace God has bestowed upon man was the sacrificing of His only begotten Son
to redeem us from our sins.
John 14:9
This act of grace is so important that the only way a person can be saved from his sins and become
acceptable to God the Father is through faith in Jesus.
James 2:19
Saving faith is more than just knowing about Jesus and accepting that the knowledge is true. The
demons know about Jesus and accept that He is the victorious Savior, but they truly aren't going
to heaven.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Besides knowledge and the acceptance of knowledge, saving faith includes trust. The person who
has true saving faith trusts in God with all his heart, does not lean on his own understanding,
acknowledges God in everything. The person with saving faith can be confident that God will
direct his paths.
JESUS WAS THE SON OF GOD
Matthew 16:13-16
While there was some confusion in Jesus' day as to who He was, those who knew Him best
discerned that He wasn't he Son of God.
John 8:58
Jesus was truly the Son of God because He was and is eternal Before Abraham was (ca. 2165
B.C.), Jesus declares He existed. Also, when He says "I Am" in this passage, He claims for
Himself the Old Testament name for God, Yahweh, which is literally translated, "I Am".
Luke 1:30-35
The Son of God, Who was originally in spirit form, became man through the workings of the
Holy Spirit in Mary. This proves His divinity.
Matthew 8:14-15
As the Son of God, Jesus could heal the sick on His own authority.
Mark 4:35-41
Jesus had power over nature. Only God has such power.
Mark 1:23-27
Jesus' deity is proved by His power over demons.
John 10:17-18
Only God has the power to give life and take it back. Jesus proved He was the Son of God by
giving up His life on the cross and taking it back at His resurrection.
JESUS WAS TRUE MAN!
Luke 2:1-7
Jesus became true man through a virgin birth.
Matthew 4:1-2
Jesus' manhood was verified by the fact He was led by the Spirit, tempted by the devil, fasted and
hungered.
John 11:35
Jesus' humanity was proven by the fact He had emotions just as we have emotions.
JESUS WAS GOD AND MAN!
Galatians 4:4-5
The moment of Jesus' incarnation (incarnation means "made into flesh") was planned by God long
before it occurred. The purpose of His coming was to ,make it possible for us to be "adopted"
into God's family. Only those who are in Christ are our brothers and sisters. Unbelievers are
fellow creatures of God, not the Christian's brothers and sisters.
Philippians 2:5-11
Even though Jesus' existence prior to His incarnation was definitely preferable to being a
God/man, He humbled Himself by not only becoming man but also dying on the cross to save
man from his sins. For this reason God has exalted Him and given Him the name above every
other name. This passage is the most comprehensive passage in the Bible when it comes to
explaining Christ's incarnation.
