I. The Foundation of all Sin!

James 1:14-15

II. Homosexuality in the Old Testament.

Genesis 9:22 - The Rabbinic Tradition is that Ham committed some perverted act while Noah was drunk.

Genesis 13:11-13; Lot chooses the Jordan Valley -Sodom.

"Now the men of Sodom were wicked exceedingly and sinners against the LORD."

Genesis 18:20f

19:2 - Men (Angels) want to spend the night in the town square.

19:3 - Lot urged them not to do so. He made them come to his home.

19:4f - The wickedness of the men of Sodom is seen by what they do.

Note the understanding of "hospitality" in his day and age! Protection!

19:24 - Consequences of sin! - Judgment from God!

Seven hundred plus years from events of Sodom until the wilderness wanderings after the exodus.

Leviticus 18:21-23; What is forbidden in these three verses?

Human sacrifice - Homosexuality - Bestiality

(Possibly introduced to Children of Israel in Egypt)

(Certainly will be present in the land of Canaan when they enter - Canaanites)

Leviticus 20:13

Homosexuality was punishable by the death penalty.

III. Homosexuality in the New Testament.

Galatians 5:19-21

Ephesians 5:3-5 These sections of Scripture speak in a general way of immorality

I Thessalonians 4:3-5

I Corinthians 6:9-10 Specific condemnation of homosexuality

I Timothy 1:8-10 Specific condemnation of homosexuality

IV. God's Still Condemns Such Sin & His Judgment Will Come!

Jude 7

Part II - The Scriptures and AIDS!

I. The Sinner Receive the Penalty of Sin.

Romans 1:26-27

". . . receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error."

All sin has Physical and Spiritual consequences!

Spiritual Consequences were dealt with at the Cross. Repentance and Faith in Jesus bring total and complete forgiveness.

Repentance also means a true change of lifestyle. The sinner has true remorse over sin and with God's help overcomes sin.

Physical consequences remain!

Consequences of Sexual sin!

Broken Marriages.

Shattered self image.

Sexually Transmitted Diseases

Physical Consequences are dealt with at Resurrection!

At the resurrection the physical consequences of sin are taken away.

II. What About the Innocent Who Suffer Because of Another's Sin?

Romans 5:12 - One man's sin affected us all.

As individual sinners what we do affects those around us. God is not at fault. The one guilty is the one who chooses to sin and do hard to another, either intentionally are unintentionally.

As to Revelation 16:2 being a direct reference to AIDS - It is not possible to demonstrate AIDS as the fulfillment of this passage but it is not outside the realm of posibility.
