Recent Events Last week we went to the 2001 National LCMS Youth Gathering, which was held in New Orleans, Louisiana. |  |

There were over 35,000 kids from across the United States and the world in downtown New Orleans for five days all wearing the same purple (dark blue) backpacks impacting New Orleans forever by spreading God's unconditional love. |

That's an awsome picture once its been painted by the hands of 35,000 teens who are willing to express their faith. |

Most of the youth events were held in the Superdome or the Convention Center, which were located within a couple of blocks of each other. At the Convention Center kids were allowed to check their e-mail, listen to concerts, go to mega sessions, ride carnival rides, or just check out the booths in the Big Easy. |

Mass events (where all 35,000 of us came together) were held in the Superdome. There were daily skits, bible studies, concerts, and inspirational speakers. On Sunday we had church and communion in the Superdome. |
